Alunaria’s Avenue – A look back on my first year

/Takes out her Enchanted Broom to dust off her site!

There… πŸ™‚

I wanted to do a look back on my last year of blogging and try to pick out my top posts made and add a few comments to them.

I guess this post is mostly for myself, it will be fun to look back at and see as a recap of things πŸ™‚ But if you are new to my blog, maybe you will appreciate it too.

It’s interesting to look back and see how I now spend more and more time editting posts and screenshots to perfection, compared to the very first ones, I made.

Anyway πŸ™‚ In no particular order, these are the posts I favor the most.

End of the Risen Threat

Not a very exciting post, but it means a lot to me, because doing this challenge is the one time in Legion, where I felt the most badass. Where I felt, despite playing so little, that I can still call myself a good Healer.

Completing the Mage Tower Challenge at item level 891 just weeks after it came out was without a doubt the biggest adrenaline kick I have had in the game. And it also shows, that if you just put your mind into it, and use all the tools you have at your disposal, you can get further than you ever imagined. πŸ™‚

My Corner

One of those rare posts that offer a glimpse of the person behind the screen. I do not share much about my personal life; I assume that visitors are more interest in World of Warcraft related stuff, but I cherish getting some insight into other bloggers gaming spot; it’s fun to imagine you guys sitting there gaming with me, like Cinder’s last post showing her super neat set up πŸ™‚

The Orca Tour

Because this was the first time I really went into depth (I know, I just did that…) with my Ocean adventures, this post means a lot to me πŸ™‚

Let’s get the Archdruid Lunarwing form (The final 52 steps!)

A goofy post, but, nonetheless, a very honest insight into how I play. So many distractions, but so many adventures πŸ™‚

The Tale of “She Who Said No To World Quests”

A turning point for me in Legion was cutting down on content that was repeatable. It was fun and liberating to try, and it having my blog helps me a lot towards my goal. It’s peculiar, but I feel like, once I put it into writing, it’s out there, and I have to do my best to stick to my goal!

Torch Tossing. Are you freaking kidding me!?

A very bugged quest was the cause of inspiration that carried me through this silly story. I know posts like this are too long for most visitors to read through, but that does not change, that I smile when I read it myself. And I think, that those who did try this bugged quest share the same frustration as the poor Night Elf featured in the story!

Let’s Craft #1: World of Warcraft Treasure Chest – brought to life!

My first Let’s Craft, and my first attempt on making something WoW related πŸ™‚ (and it just reminds me, to bring it out again, since our son’s birthday is coming up!)

Comedy Night: Ocean Edition

I read a few sillly jokes, and after editing screenshots alongside of that, the idea for The Seacrew was born, thanks toΒ  a Timewalking Run in the Underbog with Wisteria.

Let’s explore the depths of Vashj’ir – part 1 of 77

My ocean adventure to Vashj’is is one of my finest ones, I think. Especially coming across the enormous remains of seacreatures on the bottom of the ocean, so far away I could not reach them. I tried so many times. But it was great fun, and a fascinating discovery πŸ™‚

Asha’falah, Midsummer Fire Festival

Aw, well, I just love doing posts like these. I get so nostalgic. I really cherish some of the Holidays in WoW, especially those that takes us all around Azeroth πŸ™‚

Top 15 caves in World of Warcraft – Vanilla (Then and now)

Another post from the nostalgic in me. And one of my most time consuming posts to make. It’s great to take a look back on how things were, and in particular to re-visit the spots in game. πŸ™‚

What’s in your bags and why? Z & Cinder’s Blog Challenge #21

This post is quite fun for me to read now! My bags are still the same mess, but this got me thinking; perhaps a screenshot of my bags every now and again could be entertaining to check out in the future πŸ™‚

Saving Sharpbeak…Where is he today?

Another very time consuming post, but one I am very fond of. Sharpbeak and the quest to save him back in Vanilla has a special place in my heart πŸ™‚

A tribute to Russell Brower – over a decade of gratitude

A special place in my heart – this post has too. One of my most viewed posts is this one, involving one of the saddest moments in Legion for me; when Russell Brower had his position eliminated, after so many years.

I realized, Russell is and never was alone in making the epic pieces of music we have in the game, but his fingerprints are all over the game. And it is just so sad, how big companies chose to prioritize. Russell did say, that there is a chance he would be working as a freelance composer for Blizzard in the future, but tracking down the Battle for Azeroth soundtrack only has him listed under Sheet music and not as composer.

A Wispy View

Another different way of playing, I guess not many really go exploring when they are dead. But it offers a unique sight of the world πŸ™‚

Why do you blog about WoW – Z & Cinder’s Blog Challenge #23

The one post I spent the longest time writing. It needs to go under a bit of maintenance (if you are a new blogger who wants to be added to the list, please let me know!) – but if one is looking to expand their list of WoW blogs to follow, this is the post to visit.

She came, she saw, she conquered. Brawler’s Guild as a Healer

Another one of my stubborn, I want to do this in the way -I- want – kind of posts. It took me very long to achieve, but the changes made to healers in Legion, allowing them to do a little bit of DPS really opened up areas of the game for me, which I greatly appreciate.

The last part is here

“For Azeroth”

I liked the idea of using a toy to change the world and see how it would look, if the Legion invaded all our favorite locations in Azeroth. At first, it was a screenshot post, but coming up with a poem made it all come together, I feel πŸ™‚

And it helps me sooo much in learning new words in English.

The things in between – Eastern Kingdom

One of my favorite things to do in WoW is exploring places, I rarely get send to through questing. Running on the top of a mountain in between zones, and somehow, the way some zones allign really appeals to me. I want to do one of these posts on Kalimdor soon, I think it has to be my next blog post, in fact.

The tale of the Wandering Worgen

Without a doubt, one of the blog posts I have spent the longest time making. (on the text alone, no screenshot editting involved)

It was too long for most to bother to read through, but I personally love how it turned out, I even got a few why-no-flying-on-Argus thoughts merged into it.

Something good came from Twitter, and his name is Zeshio πŸ™‚ It was a lot of fun making this post, especially since the screenshots were provided by Zeshio, after he lost the ram race of Brewfest.

The price was, that he had to get completely smashed and run around on Argus until he would fall off! (Zeshio, perhaps it’s time for a consolation price for you, was it Zangar Sea in Draenor you wanted a tour on πŸ™‚ )

Zeshio even had an art piece made, inspired by the story. which I really cherish.

It’s made by Tara.

Dear Gubber Blump…

The news of a Classic server option for World of Warcraft is still surreal to me. I cannot wait. I am one of those who have been around since the beginning, and I very much look forward to do all the old quests again. This post and my old screenshots warms my heart πŸ™‚

Have you ever really noticed…#Christmas Edition

Winter Veil is one of my favorite Holidays in WoW. I had the music of it playing all December, and I can’t wait to hear it again. I noticed so many sweet details in WoW during this time, and while this post is fairly simple and short, I like that time of year in WoW a lot too.

“A very happy New Year…”

I constantly try to improve my English, and as I said, writing poems really helps me a lot. Though it might be easy to throw together for many, it does not come easy to me, so all the WoW poems I made stand out for me, as a sign of enormous effort.

Beauty And The Beast – World of Warcraft Remake; “Evermore”, By Alunaria’s Avenue

Gosh, this one. The amount of time I spent on this one. And how it made me wish so much I could make WoW videos. I would certainly make this one into it. I liked the location so much, and it took me a whole week to make it all.

I am very fond of the song Everymore as well.

I could mention more, but one has to draw a line somewhere, right πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for every comment, like and talk we have had during the last year.

I look forward to many more πŸ™‚

Torch tossing, that one is one of the funniest WoW things I ever read πŸ˜€

    1. β™₯ Thank you so much. I try! Thanks for the inspiration your sea lion brought to The Seacrew πŸ˜€

Hah, me too. The story is far too long for most to bother to read, but I giggle when I read it now, and I look forward to that holiday in WoW every year πŸ™‚

Me too! I cannot wait to do that quest again, maybe together? πŸ™‚

  4. Awesome, I’ll have to check some of these out. I recognize a couple of them, but most of them I haven’t seen. That’s cool that Comedy Night with the Seacrew started in the Underbog. Those BC dungeons are some of my favorites, purely for nolistalgia’s sake. I had some much fun with those back in the day.

Ahhh, you mentioned the Wandering Worgen post. *blushes* I had so much fun doing that whole thing. By far the most fun I’ve had during a WoW holiday. πŸ™‚

My favorites out of the ones I recognize are the Torch Tossing one and the New Year post, but I’ll definitely have to revisit the For Azeroth post, among some of the others.

    1. Always so thorough you are, Zeshio, in comments, paying attention to the detail and reading everything. I really appreciate it, know that πŸ™‚

Yes, me too, I cherished especially the difficulty of Heroics in BC.

Of course I did! I think that post turned out well, especially thanks to the humor your screenshots brought πŸ™‚

Hah, I do like the Torch Tossing too, ridiculously fun how inspiration can suddenly carry you out of nowhere.

Happy re-visiting and thank you again for your always geunine words πŸ™‚
